My wifeís question

September 14, 2005

My wife asked a good question today that I thought would prove for a good discussion topic.

"Why is that a daughter being a daddy’s girl is okay, but it’s not okay for a son to be a mama’s boy?"

Discuss, discuss.

it's like buttah

and my boy wants to know who says it’s not okay to be mama’s boy???!!!!

I don’t know Allen, but if your sweet girl is indeed a true daddy’s girl (like Holly is) Steph has my prayers and sympathies….she will forever have to be the voice of reason which can be a drag. I’m thinking you should be giving her flowers regularly and when school is done, jewelry will be nice too!

It’s simple, men are better than women, so when a girl identifies with a man she is bettering herself. When a boy identifies with a woman he is a sissy and should be sent into the woods with a bowie knife and nothing else and told to find his way home so he can “Man Up”.

I am TOTALLY kidding by the way. I myself am arguably a momma’s boy. However the above is likely the underlying sentiment when people use “momma’s boy” as an insult. These are the same people though that would freak out if their two year old son wanted to play with a doll. Not exactly the most well-rounded folks.

Here’s a fun game, find a big harry biker who has “mom” tatooed on his arm and call him a momma’s boy.
