Actually there is no director attatched yet. PJ is Exec. Producing the film though, which is good, in an of itself. It also means WETA will most likely be handling the production design/visual fx. Of course, once Son of Kong wraps, Jackson could decide to direct Halo himself.

I have this problem. It stems from the fact that video game movies suck. So I didn’t even want them to do a halo movie. Then they secured the writer who did the script for 28 Days Later and the Bungie folk started jumping up and down about how great the script was. So my expectations went up. Then Microsoft started shopping the script around with pretty strict creative control restrictions, which is good because I don’t want the Master Chief to be played by leonardo decaprio. Expectations +1 again. THEN they got Pete to Exec Produce. Weta Digital for effects! Expectations +15. Crap. Then I saw an interview with Pete where he was gushing about how much he loves Halo. That he freaking stood in line to get Halo 2! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Now the movie can’t possibly meet my expectations.

    Or can it?
