Heroes 2

October 3, 2006

Alrighty, two episodes in and I feel like the show actually has a plot now. And what a way to throw it out there.

So the entire series/season (?) is going to take a little over a month. Cool idea using Hiro to show us the “end.”

Cheerleader’s dad is getting more and more spooky.

Some of the show was a bit contrived. Finding a ‘portable hard drive’ in the lizard’s tank that has all of the research that everybody and their mom wants so badly? Yeah, little cheeseball. But we move on.

Liked the introduction of the cop that can hear people’s thoughts. I think I’m going to like him like I like Hiro.

Weird with the people being frozen and their heads chopped off. This Siler (sp?) chap is a bit off the deep end, ya? Steph says Siler is the cheerleader’s dad. I don’t buy it. I think cheerleader’s dad is the front man for an anti-mutant league. To which Steph replied “You’re just trying to make this X-Men.” To which I replied, “They _already_ made this X-Men.” (See “Kinsanth’s first comment”: on the subject)

And what was the deal with weird Las Vegas chick? K, I understand she’s got a split identity that does the dirty work for her, but what was the deal with finding skulls at the mystery location. Steph seems to think it was people the split identity had killed before. I’ve got no clue. Thoughts?

Still diggin’ the show. Hiro is pretty much endlessly entertaining, if only because there’s no other character like him on TV.
I’m with you on the anti-mutant league angle, if only because I too think that they’re pulling their moves from the Marvel playbook. Let’s just hope they pull the good ones… I’m hoping that we avoid aliens and alternate dimensions on this one….

I think her dad already knew she was “special.” He probably also knows exactly where her parents are (buried?). That is the only reason he would have sought out the nerd boy to steal the tape. He had to know she was a super already.

Syler… I don’t know who that will turn out to be. There is clearly an evil element at work here. LV chick’s ‘other’ is helping her out but in a pretty scary way. Could be that Syler has a similar situation but allows his other to do bad things on purpose.

Agreed that the cop is awesome and played the part very well. He didn’t look stupid when he was “listening” for the girl and that is tough.

Hiro is awesome but they will have to find a way to limit his powers. If he is able to travel back and forth through time in an unlimited fashion then there would never be a problem he can’t fix with enough attempts. He is going to have to have a weakness, as is the cheerleader. Did she ever try to put a bullet in her brain? Would that have killed her?

(I gotta learn peoples names in this show. jeez) the political brother also wins his election in a landslide according to the paper in the future, and the polls had him behind by ten points in the first episode. What does he do that changes the minds of the voters? does he fly on national TV? Curious.

One last fun fact that I forgot about until last night. In the preview copy of the first episode that I saw the son of the LV chick runs away from the babysitter to try and find his dad to get help. She is woken up in her garage by a phone call from her friend saying the boy is gone. I guess they decided not to pursue that plot line as it would take LV chick away from the current ‘main’ story arc. interesting.

The writing here is top notch. The second episode was even better than the first in my opinion.

Yeah, and who just paid money so they could have the privilege to walk/run a whole bunch?

Hutch, listen to your wife. LV chick’s ‘other’ has killed before, and buried them at the end of the LV highway. (Calling it her ‘other’ reminds me of Venom a little… Also of Lost, which I haven’t seen yet. Come on iTunes!)

Oh, and here’s a little name help:

    LV Chick’s son= Micah

Tre, thanks for the name list. That is helpful. I also got a chuckle from Hiro=Hiro. Well played.

Anybody else watching Jericho? Every episode since the premier has been slightly worse. I think I will watch one more and then drop it if they don’t clean up their act a bit.

Tre, well done. And yes, the Hiro = Hiro made me laugh as well.

Sorry D, no go on Jericho. We only do one show a night and it didn’t make the cut. šŸ™‚
