It’s like watching

January 26, 2007

Listening to the complete soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings movies (“Fellowship”:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BNI90O/ref=reg_hu-wl_mrai-recs/103-5779520-1349450 up first of course) right now. What amazing music. What amazing subtleties. So many of the gems get lost in the midst of those crazy things called sound effects and dialogue (pffhph!). And I didn’t realize how much of those films were intergrated into the music. I find myself recognizing scene changes and action within those scenes just by the musical cues.

It’s like watching the movie… only not.

The music is astounding. I wish I could write that way… not that I have ever even tried, but it would be cool.

I too have noticed that the music in these films is VERY tightly interwoven with the senes.

They’ve re-released Fellowship and Towers as well, putting every note written for the extended versions in chronological order on 3 cds. Check amazon for ‘complete collection’. Its da bomb.
