And some people think the US is a Christian nation… A good case can be made for the US having never been a Christian nation, anyway. But at the very least, we are living in a Post-Christian country, and scarily enough, many of the Post-Christians are people who sit in the pews every week.

This is such a reminder that our own country is as great a mission-field as anywhere else in the world. What a great hope, that the church would accept and take seriously the call to be missionaries to our own country, and even inside our own church communities.

The Bible tells us there will be a great falling away, and also that people will not endure sound doctrine, but heap unto themselves false teachers. Broad is the way that leads to destruction; it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that there are fewer and fewer people of true faith. It is shocking, especially that part about evangelicals, but we can’t say the Bible didn’t tell us so.
